I view this site and the models here as a try-before-you-buy sort of thing due to the sheer number of low-effort/low-quality avatars out there, and I feel no need to waste $40 on something I'll only use for five minutes before saying "This sucks and has clipping issues whenever I sit cross-legged."

I've got friends who are artists as well. Art is work, and artists should get paid for the work they do. I'm sure that there are other people on this site who view things like I do. What's the link to your friend's gumroad? Take this as a chance to advertise. Worst case scenario, your friend can always file a takedown request. Just let me download it before they do.
