    If the Avatar Descriptor is not on the avatar and that's the script that broke, make a new project and start over.
    Try the Creator Companion (YOU DO NOT NEED TO IMPORT SDK)

    clicking on the avatar in the hierarchy tab with give the list of scripts in the inspector tab.

    Try the following;
    -check for broken/missing scripts
    -clear blueprint id
    -delete the Thry folder for Poiyomi
    -check the console for any script editor folders causing issues.

    you do not need to open different unity version you should stay on the ones said to use by VRChat. If your shaders are pink theres a couple reasons why and its easy to fix.

    why it happen:
    -you imported it after the avatar package
    -to old for to of the version of shader that the creator used
    -duplicated files corrupted your shader.

    to fix:
    -change the pink shaders to the shader youre trying to use
    -close the avatar scene and reimport the shader (delete the shader in the project before)
    -use an updated or downgraded version

    Hello! I was looking for cute avatar and I came across with Rose (https://vrmodels.store/avatars/23012-rose.html). I really want her but for some reasons, it kept having an error about a prehab with a FileNotFoundException. I am still new to this Unity and I cannot figure out what is wrong. I really want this avatar and I would love to get help on this. Thank you for your time.

    My avatar is pink even after adding shaders </3 I opened different versions like 2019.4.31, .29, and even 2021.1.18 and 2021.1.13. I also tried doing different versions of shaders aswell. Maybe since this one requires Poiyomi 8.1, that could have caused something?

    If you have Blender its a quick fix, you need CATs plugin and like 5 minutes of your time. Find a video of the process for adding visemes, there are a lot, some with lots of other info as well.

    Once you figure that out, export as an .FBX and replace the one in Unity. This will hopefully not break and add visemes to your model. It's Unity so its a hit or miss on what breaks and whats doesn't.

    I would just toggle it but when I play the pc avi, the quest version is gonna be stuck bald in hair 1. If I don't delete the quest layers questies usually see something messed up so toggles wont work. Was wondering how I could just load the avi with the selected hair

    Does the Quest version have a toggle for the new hair?
    if so just toggle it.

    You could in theory just toggle the hair you want now in Unity and remove the animations and its sets. (removing the Hair Parameters, FX Layer, Menu Options)

    I've been wondering for a while how to fix this. So basically there's 2 hairs on this avi. One of them cannot be quest compatible because of too many bones but it's the main hair the avi will spawn in vrc with as hair1 or the active toggle. How do I make it so the avi doesn't load bald from the hair being deleted to show the selected hair in unity hair2? Some avi's have this problem some do not and just load with the hair you have turned on in unity. Yes I can just switch toggles to the right hair but i can't do that if I main PCvr, questies will see what's uploaded.

    the bones script is missing or broken, it probably has dynamic bones and not physbones. You will need to remove all those bones or convert them to phys.

    Got a model from a trade that did not have expressions set up, I set them up myself using this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_1QwwH-x7U&t=147s

    Problem is, now if I use an expression it gets stuck. I can't undo it to the default expression. Anyway I can fix this?

    well it included the Blender files so you can import it there to see the true poly count and reexport as an FBX into Unity, replacing the one in it. that may fix any errors with showing its actual count. Unless ofc it is 2billion but I'd doubt

    I managed to get it to upload fine and there are no problems with it. It’s just the fact unity says it hit the 2 billion integer limit says there’s something wrong with how the model was packaged, and this may definitely ruin uploading for Quest. Was hoping you had insite for how to fix it.

    The model has a lot of toggles, 2 complete different bodies, so unity/vrchat prob has a cap somewhere that will show that number. If you're trying to upload to Quest you have a long way to go lol

    quest doesn't have transparent texturing, you will have to have those bars or take it into Blender and remove the "transparent" part of the meshes.

    either the fx layer/animation is messed up causing something to not show up, the toggles to "not show her parts" has to be toggled separate, OR it really doesn't have anything for the dress and you will have to add/edit the animation yourself.

    pictures help a lot, check the FX layers, parameters, etc. Seems like you were traded a Ripped model from what you're saying.

    I deleted the layers just waiting to test it in game with a quest user. I did try uploading the quest conversion to both pc and quest and it looks just like what I see in unity but idk if that's only from me being a pc user.

    Basically when I convert I unpack the prefab and remove any unwanted assets. Switch all the textures to VRC mobile etc, then I use VRCQuestTools to convert to quest, remove the bones to the max limit, then upload.

    I will give a full answer later today after work if nobody has given you the answer yet.

    You can start by removing all the menu and layers on the avatar and see if it fixes

    Locomotion, Gestures, FX, Action
    Main Menu and Parameters
    (use default)

    Altho it doesn't seem like a menu/fx layer problem and its that the conversion was a little messy and somethings were removed/deleted that shouldn't have been or just need adjusting.

    VisionDesigns, Do I need to delete the fbx for quest avis if my main platform is pc? Basically whatever I see in unity while converting them to quest, my quest friends don't see that in game. They'll see an avi with no hair, messed up clothes etc (basically undoing all the work I did to convert them).

    I also have an issue when converting to quest for example when they have 2 hairs to choose from, the one I want to select will be greyed out in play mode where you test the bones. I assume play mode is what the avi will really look like in game because sometimes the appearance will change when hitting play mode. Anyway to make certain assets not greyed out like that? The hair will straight up remove itself and they'll be bald in play mode, or does it correct itself in game?

    could be a number of things... FX layer, Parameters, Animations, etc. something could be messed up. Might I ask which model it is you're having trouble with?

    What errors are in the console window? hit clear before hand to know what major errors are shown.

    The Avatar floating could be the size difference between the PC and Quest version or if it has GoGoLoco or other locomotion fixes that have to do with scaling/floating/flying.
    The materials being Pink is a failed material error, you should make a new project with only the Quest version, making sure the shaders are VRChats Mobile shaders and trying the upload again. Don't forget to copy the Blueprint ID over.

    my goto way to fix them now is to goto the animator change the mask in the fx to NONE{the settings cog} on allparts,left hand,right hand and if that doesnt do it i would download better guestures and just replace the gestures in the playable layers to the betetr gestures. havent seen a pair of hands i havent fixed yet in about 30+ avatars.

    For the growing need for Gesture fixes and facial expressions I strongly suggest to those to learn how to make their own and you will have a better understanding of what the problem may be. I know this is not the answer most want to hear but it will dramatically help you instead of relying on this channel.
    There's is a short wiki for how to fix the most common issues those have been having but to those who have broken their packages more, learning to make your gestures is far more beneficial for you. Plenty of YouTube tutorials for you to learn how.

    I've been able to fix a lot of Avatars with replacing the hand gestures with a different set..
    However one specific avatar I've been tampering with has been nothing but trouble, I need guidance. I've fixed one avatar by the exact same creator without any trouble. The one I am working on now. I've changed out the hand poses, nothing. Then somehow, I completely broke the facial gestures & toggles. I've restarted this project 3-4 times now from scratch with no positive results.
    If someone would be willing to help me out I would appreciate it. I can give you Avatars for your time.

    Check for errors in the Console window, there are tool giving errors stopping you from uploading. Could also be missing scripts located on the avatar.

    When having Blueprint ID errors, you only need to detach the ID not replace it. The only reason you need to replace is if you're overwriting a different avatar or making a cross compatible avatar.

    guys im almost certian i found a fix for claw ands if its either 1 or 2 i fixed 3 avatgars sofar and its wayy ezer then othere have tried 2 show me and i thank dayriiin for is post My Webpage and all i did was add the better gestures to the better gestures layar and boom it was fixed. like 3 weeks of problems and this was all i had to do and i ty sir!

    Are you removing the Blueprint ID before you start the upload process? Removing while in "play mode" will not work.

    You can check your console window for all the errors you're having. You may have a tool that's blocking your upload or worse your projects busted and you'll need to redo it all.
