I've been studying this section for any and all types of questions to be asked as well as known issues some may come across. While i dont want to go in full tutorial length pages for how to fix something. Ive shortened a lot of it down to be a couple sentences for a few reasons. One being an overwhelming full length page, normally has the response of "im not reading that" i get it lmao. This new section will NOT be a full demo to creating avatars and will focus, at least for now, on solving your problems. Me and many others do not enjoy typing the same things over and over because you decide to not scroll down. With that being said and to keep this relevantly short, some fixes may require basic knowledge or a general understanding of unity. Further questions can be asked here or DMs.

in the game window, change Remote to Free Aspect or whatever fits ur screen
you could also have a prefab error

yea the amazing choice to make their own bone system was a terrible execution, the tool provided below should make all the bones work again. YOU WILL HAVE TO ADJUST THE SETTINGS. I recommend putting the base settings to hair so u wont have to do all the hair bones.
i dont fully understand physbones so i cant be much help with them. I know theyre supposed to not work on main armature bones like Hips, Spine, Chest, Head, etc. but sometimes they do sooooo idk

import everything before the avatar package. Make sure to uncheck duplicated folder so nothings replaced.
also possible u have a very old dynamic bones script, do u know what version ur using?
can u send a picture of the console window AFTER hitting clear so i can see what type of error it is.

r u using an old sdk? recent update on the VRChat website.
make sure to not override anything in the import popup window, scroll down and uncheck VRCSDK if needed. To be sure
redownload the latest SDK from the website, make a new project, import everything as normal making sure not to import another SDK file attached to the model.
ur uploading to Quest right? make sure no scripts that are not compatible with the quest version r in the package and/or attached to the model.

U shouldnt import dynamic bones unless its stated its needed for the conversion fix.
Pay attention to the description of models with upload instructions. If theyre not listed search for the model and creator to visit the store page to find out what u need to import.

So I keep having issues with uploading avis with dynamic bones.. idk if its my package or if im uploading everything in the wrong order (sdk>poi>dyna>avi) and it hasnt been fixing most of the time when i reimport the sdk so idk what im doing wrong... anyone know how to help? <3

Sorry bud, Ill have to agree with Matcha + Vision, they did answer this question often so they are tired seeing this floating around, but try deleting Thry editor from poiyomi scripts. Or scroll down for reference. Or look on tutorials (there might be some that can help guide you to it)

Hello! Have you tried the newest SDK 3 (I think anything over May/June). It gave us double the parameter so you should be able to fit like 250? I forgot exactly but over 200 for sure. Hope this helps~

The old SDK only has 120 something parameters last I check, and the new one expanded the parameter limit*

just reread ur message, Building and testing is basically useless unless ur making a world. building and testing wont showcase everything on the avatar since it doesnt exactly run on a full vrchat client.
i recommend using build and upload instead from now on for avatars. you can always update the package/avatar without having to clear blueprint ids.

if theres no errors in the console like you say, tho i recommend u double check for any possible errors. PLEASE send a picture of ur console window AFTER HITTING CLEAR so i can understand a little more of the problem.
otherwise it seems like ur SDK broke, either u imported a model with an SDK in the package and broke it.

Can someone help me with upload the model from unity to vrchat? I set up all the things and try to upload to vrchat. So, I press the "Build & Published" button. And nothing happend. u may have to put the correct FX Layer on, sometimes theyre labeled " *AvatarName*FX " and sometimes theyre just FX. Which avi is giving u those problems? i can load a project and find the appropriate one u should use.

how many poly is the avatar?
are you trying to upload to quest?
i havent heard of anyone having poly issues is a while, i dont think that would block u from uploading.
the Parameters is more than likely causing it to block upload. changing some of the parameters to Bool should help lower the number. is there anything on the avi u dont mind losing like a marker system? easy to remove that.

so uh.. dunno if this was asked before but on quite a few models I keep getting a "prefab not found" error when going to upload them and it makes a new prefab?... and the process repeats with it looking for a different prefab number each time, tried everything I found online like reimporting poiyomi shaders, and tried to make a new project and see if it works there, im outta ideas

, If your textures are like that then you either have the wrong shader/version OF the shader, or your shader isn't applying to the materials. You can fix this by selecting all of the materials with missing textures and manually setting the shader.

9/10 avatars use Poiyomi, some cases if ur using a version that too old/new compared to the version that the creator used to make the model, you get those kind of errors. Hold Shift or Ctrl and selecting the pink materials will make the fix process quicker.
Alternatively, A lot of models use PoiyomiToon7.3.050 I believe its on the website but you can find it in Poi Discord server. Importing that before the model package will greatly reduce the amount of time you have that problem.

Every time import a package for avatars there are always missing materials.
I'm not sure if this is my fault or the package because if I get an avatar from somewhere else like gumroad it works fine. But I think it could also be my fault as the source would have a lot of likes if it didn't work also people in the comments of the avatars said it does work.
If anyone has any ideas about why this would be happening or how to prevent this I would love to hear them.

you would have to take the FBX into Blender to add clothes
changing the texture can be done in unity unless u want to remap the UV

are you able to sign into ur account within the SDK?
changing ur name does not change the default login, u will have to use the same username u had before.
did you remove the Blueprint ID before trying to upload?
within the hierarchy, clicking on the avatar, look for the Blueprint ID script, Detach the existing ID and then upload.
if you could, could you send a picture of the console window. Be sure to hit clear before sending a screenshot so i know the main errors. IF the errors disappear on a clear, try to login/upload again and send me a picture of the console window.

thats a blendshape toggle creators use to hide clipping, id leave it as is when u go to upload to not run into any issues with the avatar. if ur trying to change something about the body and need to view the body...
click on the characters body until u have the material options shown, at the top within the inspector page you should see an option labeled "Blendshapes" clicking the arrow next to it shows a list of "animations" build into the mesh itself. look for options called *hide* or *clipping* sometimes theyre as simple as *body* *leg* and/or *arms*
slide it the the opposite side of where it is, BUT as stated before put the value back to its original position before uploading.
